NordVPN browser extension gets redesigned UI with better search and navigation

According to TechRadar, which first reported the changes, the revamp includes a redesigned connection screen and a reorganization of several key features. A blog post from NordVPN explains that the new screen displays a world map with server positions, giving users a visual representation of their connection location. This replaces the previous list-based approach.

Other changes include moving advanced options such as Exclude from VPN and Spoofing into the profiles menu in the top bar, reducing clutter on the main interface. The search function has also been relocated to the top of the interface and is now accessible from any tab, allowing users to directly search for a country or city and connect without returning to a separate location screen.

TechRadar notes that the update follows similar user-interface improvements NordVPN has made to its Linux app and mobile apps over the past year. Those changes were reportedly driven by user feedback, and the company appears to have applied the same approach to the browser extension.

The publication also explained that a browser extension differs from a full VPN app because it only routes traffic from the browser rather than from the entire device, which typically has less impact on performance.
