Nothing teases Kingdra product tied to unannounced Ear 3 Pro
Nothing teased a Kingdra-codenamed product that a September support-page leak linked to the unannounced Ear 3 Pro.
The teaser featured Kingdra, a water- and dragon-type Pokémon. Nothing wrote, “It sleeps deep on the ocean floor to build its energy. It is said to cause tornadoes as it wakes.” The post did not name a product or give a launch date.
Android Authority reported that the clue matches an earlier apparent leak. In September, a Reddit user spotted what looked like an official support page for the Nothing Ear 3 Pro on Nothing’s website and captured a screenshot before the page was taken offline, the report said. The page included an internal identifier, 25253, and the codename Kingdra, according to the report. Android Authority said it searched the Wayback Machine and found an archived version dated Sept. 7 that included “Nothing Ear 3 Pro” and code references to Kingdra and the identifier.
Nothing has used Pokémon codenames for earlier products, but the names have not mapped directly to product categories. The original Ear 1 was codenamed Aipom, Ear 2 was Azumarill, the 2024 Nothing Ear was Entei, Ear 3 was Feraligatr and Headphone 1 was Elekid, according to the report. Nothing has not released a Pro version in its Ear line; it recently released the Nothing Headphone 1 Pro, and CMF is a separate brand.
If the leaked name is accurate, the Ear 3 Pro would place Nothing in the premium earbud segment alongside Samsung’s Galaxy Buds 4 Pro, Apple’s AirPods Pro 3 and the latest products from Sony and Bose. Android Authority said expectations for such a product would include better noise cancellation, improved microphones, longer battery life, higher-fidelity audio and separate drivers for bass, mids or precision and treble, while stressing that those details are speculation. Nothing said Kingdra is coming soon, according to the report, so the company is expected to provide more details shortly.
