Nvidia CEO’s Microduck Demo Drives More Than 20,000 Preorders Ahead of Christmas

Nvidia CEO’s Microduck demo at GTC Berlin helped drive more than 20,000 preorders, with Christmas deliveries expected.

The video showed the small robots stomping their feet and making tiny R2-D2-like noises. On voice command, they sat, fell down for a “nap,” and somersaulted. TechCrunch AI reported that the Microducks are expected to be delivered in time for Christmas, putting them in position to become a leading holiday toy. Delangue said he thinks they could end up as the best-selling robot of the year and suggested the buyers may not be only children; promotional videos show adults playing with them as well.

Microducks are open-source devices produced by Pollen Robotics, which Hugging Face acquired in 2025. Nvidia bought Hugging Face in September, placing Pollen under the GPU company. The Microducks are Hugging Face’s second robot, following Reachy Mini.

Pollen trained the Microducks using Nvidia’s technology stack, with simulations teaching the basic tricks they ship with, such as walking, sitting and standing. Pollen says owners can train their robots with new tricks and share them with the community.
