NVIDIA Shield TV Pro Gets About $100 Price Increase on Amazon, Best Buy

NVIDIA Shield TV Pro now costs about $300 on Amazon and Best Buy, up roughly $100, Android Authority reports.

Amazon lists the device at $300.26, while Best Buy lists it at $299.99, Android Authority reported on Oct. 2, 2026. The previous price was $200. The publication described the increase as a possible stealth price hike because NVIDIA had not publicly announced it.

Android Authority said it guessed the price increase was due to the RAM crisis, which has raised memory costs across the board. That would mean NVIDIA is paying more for the Shield TV Pro’s memory and storage and passing those costs on to consumers to maintain the same profit margin. The report added that NVIDIA overall may not be too worried about profits when its other product categories are bringing in cash due to AI.

The price increase comes months after the Shield TV Tube model went out of stock, Android Authority noted. NVIDIA refused to comment on future availability at the time, which the publication said suggested the device had been discontinued. Android Authority speculated then that NVIDIA may have dropped the device because of rising memory costs.

Android Authority said the Shield TV Pro remains one of the best Android TV boxes around, more than a decade after its initial release. It cited the device’s respectable level of horsepower, an array of features and a long update commitment. The Shield TV Pro is also one of the few Android TV boxes with 64-bit Android, making it suitable for games and emulators.

That makes it difficult to find an alternative device that meets the same needs, though Android Authority named the Google TV Streamer and the Onn 4K Pro 2026 as the best options.
