NymVPN Releases Version 2026.12 With One-Click Connections, Android Camouflage and New Pricing

NymVPN has launched app version 2026.12, adding one-click connections, geo-exclusion split tunneling, Android icon camouflage and five new languages, while dropping its two-year subscription plan.

According to the Nym Core Team, the release is focused on "getting the safest connection to more people, in more places, with less in the way." The company said the update is aimed at improving usability and speed across its decentralized mixnet service.

NymVPN reworked its WireGuard handshake to deliver faster and more stable cellular connections. The provider said this reduces the chance of a connection dropping when a user moves from Wi-Fi to a spotty mobile data network. It also introduced a new onboarding experience intended to help users get started with the VPN's decentralized mixnet.

The most visible change is one-click connections. NymVPN added a "Safest" default setting that automatically chooses a strong-performing server in a country next to the user's own, placing the entry point outside the user's home jurisdiction. Users can also choose "Random" to change traffic patterns, or use "Favorites" and "Recents" for quicker access to trusted nodes.

On desktop, NymVPN officially launched geo-exclusion alongside traditional split tunneling for macOS, Windows and Linux. Basic split tunneling sends an entire app outside the VPN, while geo-exclusion splits a single app's traffic by destination. This allows local services, such as banking apps, to remain outside the tunnel while international traffic stays protected. The team said the feature is currently available for Chinese IPs and more countries will be added.

For users in restrictive regimes, NymVPN has extended its camouflage icon feature to Android after earlier iOS icon disguises. The feature lets users hide the VPN behind a discreet alternative logo in device settings. The provider also launched five new languages: Traditional Chinese, Traditional Chinese (Hong Kong), Japanese, Italian and Indonesian. In its release, the developer said, "for people living under censorship, a VPN they can actually read is a necessity, not a nicety."

NymVPN also changed its pricing. It introduced a six-month plan at $6 per month and kept a standard monthly tier at $8. The company is retiring its two-year subscription tier, leaving the one-year plan at $4 per month as the best value. NymVPN said existing two-year subscribers will keep their current plan, but it will automatically renew as a one-year plan when it expires. The provider claims it remains one of the most affordable options on the market, adding that "privacy is guaranteed by design, not by a promise a centralized VPN structurally can't keep."

The NymVPN roadmap promises QR-code support for faster activations, expanded geo-exclusion for Russia and customizable entry-and-exit server profiles.
