One UI 9 lets you set Motion Photos as wallpaper on select Galaxy foldables

Samsung's One UI 9.0 introduces Motion Photo wallpapers for home and lock screens, currently available on Galaxy Z Fold 8, Fold 8 Ultra, and Flip 8, but not yet on Galaxy S26 beta.

Motion Photos is a camera feature that captures a few seconds of action leading up to the shutter release, saving a short three-second clip. In addition to helping users pinpoint a still frame, the new wallpaper function adds a second benefit to enabling the feature. When selecting a Motion Photo, users see a preview of how the animation looks on their screens, and they can tap the Motion Photo button to enable or disable the animation.

The feature was spotted by SamMobile, and Android Authority notes that it is not yet available on Galaxy S26 devices.
