OnePlus 16 Clears China Network Certification as Leak Details 9,000mAh Battery and 200MP Camera

The network access certification confirms the OnePlus 16 will pack a 9,000mAh battery with support for 100W wired charging and 50W wireless charging, according to Android Authority. That detail also corroborates earlier leaks from Digital Chat Station (DCS), which suggested the phone might use two 4,390mAh battery cells. DCS shared a Weibo post with the detailed spec list after the certification appeared.

On cameras, DCS says the OnePlus 16 will feature a 200MP primary camera with a 1/1.4-inch sensor, a 50MP ultrawide camera, and a 50MP periscope telephoto lens with a 1/1.95-inch sensor. Android Authority reported that these specs match the “final” camera details DCS revealed earlier in the month, which also indicated the phone could come with a 50MP front camera.

The display is expected to support a 165Hz refresh rate, though DCS now claims it will support 185Hz for gaming. Earlier DCS leaks also suggested the OnePlus 16 could have the thinnest bezels of any OnePlus phone yet.

For performance, Android Authority reported that the OnePlus 16 is expected to use the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6, a chip previously expected to be named the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro. DCS mentioned the “Snapdragon 8EE6” processor. The chipset could be paired with up to 16GB of RAM, and OnePlus is expected to bring back an 8GB RAM variant this year.

DCS also says the design looks “quite stylish.” The OnePlus 16 is expected to launch sometime in October, but the company has not confirmed an exact date. Android Authority noted that the phone will not launch in the US, though interested buyers might want to import it. If the reported specs are accurate, Android Authority said it could be an amazing Android flagship.
