OnePlus 16 to launch in China with 9,000mAh battery and 185Hz display, but not in US or EU

OnePlus has confirmed the OnePlus 16 will launch in China on October 12 with a 9,000mAh battery, a 165Hz BOE X4 display that can reach 185Hz in games, and 100W wired plus 50W wireless charging. It will not be sold in the US or EU.

Android Authority reported that official teasers confirm the OnePlus 16 will feature a 9,000 mAh battery, 100W wired charging and 50W wireless charging. The device also includes a power management chip designed to maintain battery health for five years.

According to OnePlus China President Li Jie Louis in a Weibo post cited by Android Authority, OnePlus partnered with BOE to develop the fourth-generation Oriental Screen, which uses X4 luminescent material. The BOE X4 panel supports a system-wide 165Hz refresh rate for day-to-day scrolling across apps. In gaming, the refresh rate can rise to 185Hz.

The launch is set for October 12, and the phone is scheduled to arrive in China next week. The US and EU will not receive the device, following OnePlus's exit from those markets, Android Authority reported.
