OpenAI to Offer GPT-6 Models Through Google Cloud's Model Garden

OpenAI plans to make GPT-6 Astra, Sol and Luna available in Google Cloud’s Model Garden within weeks, letting enterprises pay through existing cloud commitments and adding OpenAI models to Google’s cloud marketplace.

OpenAI said Astra is responsible for several AI-produced math discoveries it has published in recent weeks and achieved a perfect score on ExploitBench, a benchmark that measures LLMs’ ability to find and exploit cybersecurity flaws. The model includes safety optimizations designed for enterprise use. OpenAI said Astra causes “fewer misaligned outcomes” than all other frontier models it has evaluated and is configured not to bypass user-defined restrictions on tasks it can perform.

Google Cloud customers will also get GPT-6.1 Sol and GPT-6 Luna, scaled-down versions of Astra that OpenAI launched in late September. They trade some output quality for lower token pricing; Sol and Luna cost five and 100 times less than Astra, respectively, according to the report. Model Garden’s lineup includes LLMs and smaller, more specialized models optimized for tasks such as translation.

Google Cloud Chief Executive Thomas Kurian said in the report: “We are focused on giving customers a broad selection of models, including those from OpenAI, so they can choose the right model for any given job, helping to deliver optimal quality and lower costs.”

OpenAI said Google Cloud customers can use long-term spending commitments to pay for access to its models, removing the need to set up a new AI budget and easing procurement. Cloud providers offer discounts to enterprises that sign such commitments.

After the Model Garden launch, the companies plan to bring the models to Google’s Confidential Compute portfolio. Google’s server-grade central processing units include a security feature called TEE, which can encrypt a segment of the host server’s memory so that only a specific workload can access it. Google’s Confidential Compute services use the technology to secure customer workloads and can ease use cases such as sharing a dataset among multiple organizations for AI training.

OpenAI also plans to make its models available through Google’s Antigravity and Gemini Agent products. Antigravity is a vibe coding tool that uses agent ensembles to speed up software projects, while Gemini Agent is designed to automate business tasks that span multiple cloud applications, according to the report.

Editor's Summary OpenAI’s plan to place GPT-6 Astra, Sol and Luna in Google Cloud’s Model Garden will let enterprises buy access through existing cloud commitments and use the models in Google infrastructure and agent products. The launch adds OpenAI’s flagship models to Google Cloud’s marketplace and expands the options available to its customers.
