ORICO enters laptop market with Obook15, launch preorders cut base model to $586.49
ORICO's first laptop, Obook15, opens preorders with a 15% discount, cutting the base model to about $586.49.
The preorder window runs through Oct. 23. The Obook15 is priced at $689.99 for 12GB memory and 256GB storage, $749.99 for 12GB and 512GB, and $899.99 for 24GB and 1TB. The 15% discount applies during the preorder period and comes with a bonus gift. ORICO says the lineup starts at 12GB rather than 8GB to give multitasking, Windows 11 and its AI software more headroom. Three color options are available: silver, pink and blue.
The laptop uses an AMD Ryzen 7 6800H processor with eight cores, 16 threads and a boost clock up to 4.7GHz. The chip includes Radeon 680M graphics. Memory is LPDDR5 running at 6400MT/s in 12GB or 24GB capacities. Supplied PCIe 3.0 drives come in 256GB, 512GB or 1TB sizes.
There are two M.2 2280 slots. The supplied drive occupies one, while the second remains empty and supports PCIe 4.0 storage up to 4TB, four times the capacity of the largest supplied drive, ORICO says. The 15.6-inch IPS display has a matte finish, 1920 x 1080 resolution, 60Hz refresh rate and 170-degree viewing angles. The hinge opens 180 degrees, and the screen has 5mm bezels and an 81% screen-to-body ratio. A 1MP camera with a physical shutter sits in the bezel.
The Obook15 measures 356.5 x 232 x 19.35mm and weighs 1.8kg. Its lid and base use aluminum alloy, with plastic elsewhere. It has two USB-C ports at 10Gbps with DisplayPort 1.4, one HDMI 2.0 output, a 5Gbps USB-A port and a 480Mbps USB-A port. A separate DC input keeps both USB-C ports free while the 100W adapter charges a 54.29Wh battery. Wireless support covers Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2. Cooling uses two fans, two heat pipes and two air vents, and ORICO rates the system at 45W.
The notebook has a full-size backlit keyboard with a numeric pad and preinstalls Windows 11 Home. It also includes XiaoAo, an AI assistant that bundles 11 specialized experts for device control, workflow automation and knowledge management. “Obook 15 AI Laptop is our answer to intelligent productivity,” ORICO CEO Yeyou Xu said. “We combine capable hardware with an AI agent designed to reduce routine workload, bringing advanced features to the mainstream segment.”
