Pebble Round 2 beta tester praises slim design, reports occasional button problems

A beta tester describes the Pebble Round 2 as slim and comfortable after months of use, but reports occasional unresponsive buttons and battery life around 10 days.

The tester, Nick Lum, published a YouTube video showing the Round 2 and comparing it with the Pebble Time 2 and the Garmin Forerunner 165, Android Authority reported. He said he understood his unit to be identical to those that will ship to customers, and his impressions were largely positive.

Lum particularly liked the watch's thin design and comfort, to the point that he had barely worn his Pebble Time 2 since receiving the Round 2, the report said. The video also presented the Round 2 as slim next to rival smartwatches, which Android Authority described as looking chunky by comparison.

The button problem was the main frustration he encountered. According to Android Authority, the buttons were occasionally unresponsive on two units. Battery life also varied during his testing, and the most recent measurement was about 10 days.

Android Authority said it had been impressed by the Pebble Round 2 during a hands-on session at CES earlier this year, but noted that a brief hands-on can only reveal so much about a device. The long-awaited wearable has not yet reached buyers.
