Pixel 11 owners can't play Genshin Impact, but fix is coming
Pixel 11 users face unplayable Genshin Impact due to PowerVR GPU issues; Google confirms a fix is in the works.
The Pixel 11 phones are powered by the Tensor G6 processor, which uses a PowerVR GPU. According to reports, the game's developer, HoYoverse, told a player that PowerVR GPUs do not meet the game's minimum requirements. The issue has also been flagged on Google's Issue Tracker.
This is not the first time such a problem has appeared. Last year, some Pixel 10 owners reported major graphical issues with Genshin Impact, as the Pixel 10's Tensor G5 chip also used PowerVR graphics.
Google told Wired that it is currently working with HoYoverse to address the optimization issue on the Pixel 11, and a fix is expected in Genshin Impact's upcoming update. While this is welcome news, it raises questions about why the same situation occurred again after the Pixel 10 experience.
