Users say the feature, which Google has described as its biggest navigation upgrade, worked on their previous Android phones but is no longer available on the new Pixel 11 series. The problem also appears when Google Maps is run through Android Auto, based on complaints on Reddit and Google's support forums, as reported by Auto Evolution.

Android Authority said the feature appears to be controlled on the server side, meaning users cannot restore it with an app update or a settings change. Google is investigating the reports but has not confirmed what is causing the problem or when it will be fixed.

For many users, the loss means their new phone lacks a navigation experience they had on older devices. The reports highlight that a device upgrade does not always preserve server-side features.
