The gap between the base Pixel and the Pro has narrowed significantly, the article notes. For the first time, the Pro's base configuration in the Pixel 11 series has 12GB of RAM, the same as the regular Pixel 11. Last year, Google also brought a telephoto camera to its standard Pixel, further closing the distance. The new HiLight feature, which uses dynamic lighting patterns for Gemini interactions and can assign colors to contacts, is currently limited and not a reason to buy a Pro model on its own, according to the analysis.

In day-to-day performance, the Tensor G6 chip is identical across the Pixel 11 family, and both the Pixel 11 and Pixel 11 Pro start with 12GB of RAM. The Pixel 11 has a slightly larger battery at 4,985mAh compared with the 4,850mAh in the Pro, while wired and wireless charging speeds are the same. Software features like Gemini Intelligence, Magic Capture, Creator Suite, and Circle to Search improvements are shared across the family, with the Pro adding AI-powered Pro Zoom features and a free six-month Google AI Pro plan.

The analysis concludes that the Pixel 11 is a much better value for most people. It still receives seven years of OS updates and bug fixes, and costs at least $200 less than the Pro. The author writes that users who do not need the Pro's camera zoom, brighter display, or HiLight will get an excellent Android phone capable of handling any game or app.
