Pixel 11 Pro owners report missed-call bug that first appeared in June
Pixel 11 Pro owners report a missed-call bug first seen in June; Google is aware but has no fix timeline.
The Pixel 11 series launched in August. A Pixel 11 Pro XL owner described the issue on Reddit, saying incoming calls fail to ring in about four out of every 10 calls and that the phone instead sends a missed-call notification by text, according to Android Authority. The user is on German carrier Congstar and said resetting network settings, replacing the SIM card and performing a factory reset did not fix the problem.
The owner also said disabling Do Not Disturb and removing features such as Call Screen and the spam filter did not help, Android Authority reported. Google is aware of the issue and has responded to the complaint, but the company has not provided a timeline for a fix, according to the report.
The bug is not new. In June, Pixel owners across a range of models, including recent flagships and older devices, reported that incoming calls were not showing on screen. A Google Issue Tracker post from that month now includes new entries from affected users, including one from a Pixel 11 Pro user early last month, Android Authority reported.
Android Authority also cited another complaint from late August in which Google appeared to offer a solution. The same user returned last month with a similar complaint, and a few other users agreed in the comments, according to the report. That account indicates the proposed fix did not resolve the issue for at least some users.
The reports have appeared on Reddit and Google's Issue Tracker. Android Authority said it contacted Google for an update on the long-standing bug and would update its story if the company responded. It also recommended workarounds for Pixel users experiencing the same problem.
