Pixel 11 Screen Saver Options Begin Rolling Out to Older Pixel 9 Phones

Google is starting to roll out Pixel 11 Screen Saver options, including the new Charge style, to older Pixel 9 phones, according to Android Authority, though the rollout appears limited.

The screensavers first arrived with the Pixel 10 last year. Android Authority reported at the time that the options were the feature’s first major update in more than a decade, but they remained exclusive to the Pixel 10 at launch. This year, the selection expanded to the Pixel 11, which added a new “Charge” style. The Pixel 9 series is now beginning to receive those options.

Android Authority said it received a tip from Telegram user Sameerasw, who reported that their Pixel 9 Pro was getting screensaver options similar to those on the Pixel 10 and Pixel 11. The user also shared a screen recording confirming that the Pixel 9 Pro now lets them choose from various new screensaver styles. Those include the Pixel 11’s Charge screensaver as well as Clock and Weather options first added to the Pixel 10 series.

The report did not say which other Pixel 9 models might receive the update or when a broader rollout could begin. It also did not indicate whether the screensavers would reach other older Pixel devices. At this point, the evidence comes from a single user report and screen recording cited by Android Authority.
