Pixel Phones Found Less Buggy Than Reputation Suggests, Survey Says
An Android Authority survey found 51.9% of Pixel users report flawless experiences, while 23.1% saw early bugs on older models and 8% on the Pixel 11 Pro.
Another 17 percent of respondents said they do not use Pixels, which means the share of users who own reliable Pixel devices was even larger when non-Pixel owners are excluded. On the problem side, 23.1 percent said they had encountered early issues with previous Pixel devices, while 8 percent said they had issues specifically with the Pixel 11 Pro.
The survey was conducted after several reports of battery drain, overheating and other failures across Pixel models. The article also noted one reviewer's Pixel 11 Pro bricking itself five days into the review. It questioned whether consumers should accept such an experience after paying more than $1,000 for a phone.
Reader comments in the survey were mixed. One commenter said a Pixel 11 Pro XL ran smoothly from day one with better battery life than a Pixel 7 Pro. Another said their Pixel 7 had caused ongoing issues and that they were leaning toward an upcoming Motorola device. Critical commenters blamed Google's shift to AI for hardware problems, and one joked that after 15 years Google might “get a pixel right next year.”
