Razer launches Prio controller that folds down to credit-card size
Razer unveiled the Prio, a mobile game controller that folds credit-card-size, with a full layout and drift-resistant sticks.
The Prio is compact but includes a full-sized controller layout with recessed joysticks, a D-pad, face buttons and shoulder buttons. Razer says the joysticks are engineered to reduce drift. The controller weighs 101 grams and is intended to solve the portability problem common among bulkier mobile controllers.
The controller connects to smartphones over USB-C, drawing power from the phone while in use, so users do not need to charge it separately. It supports both Android and iOS and works with streamed games from Xbox Cloud Gaming, Steam Link, PS Remote Play and Razer PC Remote Play.
Razer says the Prio could also be useful for gamers who want to run emulated titles on Android phones. With the controller, users can play retro games on their phones without buying a dedicated Android gaming handheld.
The Razer Prio is priced at $99.99 and is available through Razer’s official website, Amazon US and other retailers.
