Researcher Finds 0-Day in Meta's Muse Mac App After Security Claims
Meta's Muse AI agent faces a macOS 0-day after the company promoted its security features and bug bounty.
The report said Meta spent the last two weeks telling anyone who would listen how secure its new Muse personal AI agent is. The company pointed to a dedicated Secure VM, a monitoring system called Sentinel, and bug bounty rewards of up to $300,000. Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg also publicly stated that the agent is "built from the ground up for privacy and security."
Patrick Wardle, a macOS security researcher and a friend of Security Bite, found the 0-day in the Muse app on Mac. Wardle comically named the finding "not-a-musing." Security Bite described the last 24 hours at Meta as "not-a-musing" in its headline, linking the name to the timing of the discovery.
The report did not provide additional technical details about the vulnerability or say whether it has been patched. It also did not include a response from Meta. The disclosure followed the company's recent security-focused messaging around Muse.
