Retroid Unveils Pocket Duo Lite Plus, a $199 Middle Option in Its Dual-Screen Handheld Line

Retroid has announced the Pocket Duo Lite Plus, a dual-screen Android handheld that splits the difference between the Pocket Duo and Pocket Duo Lite, priced at $199 with a launch discount.

The company introduced the Pocket Duo and Pocket Duo Lite a week earlier, adding two more devices to a dual-screen handheld category that has grown steadily more crowded. The standard Pocket Duo is the more expensive of the pair, while the Lite version trims specifications to reach a lower price. The Lite Plus is positioned as an alternative for buyers who find neither of those two options suitable.

The largest change in the Lite Plus is its processor. It moves from the Lite's QCS6125 chipset to the Q-7790 used in the standard model, a shift from a low-end Snapdragon 665 to a Snapdragon 7 Gen 4. The Lite Plus also comes only in an 8GB/128GB configuration, compared with the Lite's 4GB/64GB base version. The combination of that processor and 8GB of memory is expected to handle some PC and Switch titles, and to improve performance on 3DS games.

The rest of the hardware follows the Lite rather than the standard model. The Lite Plus keeps the Lite's digital triggers and 60Hz LCD screens, while the standard Pocket Duo carries a pair of 120Hz OLED panels and analog triggers. The new model includes a 6,000mAh battery, Bluetooth 5.4, Wi-Fi 6E and Android 16.

On price, Retroid lists the Pocket Duo Lite Plus at a recommended $219, with a $20 discount code available through the end of October that brings it to $199. For comparison, the Duo Lite has a recommended price of $149 and the standard Pocket Duo $269; promotional codes lower those two devices to $135 and $249 respectively.

The report did not include a shipping date or say when the discount code takes effect beyond the end of October window. The announcement, published on September 21, 2026, came from a single outlet account of the product line, and Retroid had not issued separate pricing details beyond the figures cited.
