ReviR Therapeutics Backs First National CMT Awareness Day as RTX-117 Phase I Trial Proceeds

The event, initiated by the Qianli Xing CMT Mutual Aid Home and PeaSir, formally designated Sept. 19 each year as National CMT Awareness Day. Dr. Liu Yang, China CEO of ReviR Therapeutics, was invited to give a report at the event, presenting research and drug development information to patients and families and sharing the latest progress of RTX-117 for CMT and other indications.

Liu said preclinical data for RTX-117 showed favorable molecular properties and significant effects in mouse experiments. The Phase I trial is underway and progressing well, he said, while multiple research collaborations are being carried out to support further clinical trials. As ReviR continues work on small molecule RNA-regulating therapies, the report said the approach may eventually offer more precise and effective treatment options for CMT patients. Liu also said timely diagnosis is important for individual disease intervention, reproductive guidance, disease research and drug development.

CMT is included in China’s first rare disease catalog. It is a group of hereditary peripheral neuropathies with a prevalence of about 1 in 2,500 and a high disability rate. There is currently no effective therapy. The report said CMT has long remained outside public awareness, and patients face multiple difficulties including hard diagnosis, insufficient rehabilitation resources and a lack of social understanding.
