Revolut customers hit by fresh security incident after US stock broker breach

Revolut customers have been affected by a fresh security incident after the broker handling the fintech's US stock trades suffered a breach, emails seen by Sifted show.

Sifted published the account as an exclusive on 24 September 2026. The outlet said it had seen emails sent to customers affected by the incident, which it traced to the third-party broker that executes US stock orders for Revolut's users.

Revolut's app lets customers buy and sell US-listed shares, with those orders routed to that outside broker rather than executed by the fintech itself. The customers contacted by email are users of that stock-trading service, and the breach reported by Sifted concerns the broker relationship behind it.

Sifted is a European technology publication whose fintech coverage spans neobanking, payments, buy-now-pay-later providers and the startup funding scene. Its report on the incident was based on the emails it reviewed.
