Safari's Notify Me Tool Tracks Price Drops and Restocks in iOS 27
Apple's Safari in iOS 27 adds a Notify Me tool that alerts users to price drops or restocks on any webpage, no extra apps needed.
Notify Me is designed for more than just e-commerce. Users can ask it to monitor concert ticket availability, tour dates, news stories on a particular topic, or any other webpage change they care about. To set it up, users tap or click the three horizontal lines on the left side of Safari's address bar, select Notify Me, and describe the change they want tracked, such as "If the price drops below $100" or "The gray and blue option comes back in stock."
After entering a description, users press the blue edit button to choose how often Safari polls the page, with options for hourly, daily, weekly, or monthly checks. Once the blue checkmark appears in the upper right corner, the alert is active. If Safari notifications are not yet enabled, users will be prompted to turn them on. Because the feature runs on the device rather than in the cloud, Engadget recommends setting it up on the device where users are most likely to see the notification, such as an iPhone they carry daily.
To modify or cancel a Notify Me alert, users can revisit the same page, tap Edit in the banner at the top, or go to Settings > Safari and scroll down to the Notify Me section near the bottom. This makes it possible to adjust tracking frequency or delete a no-longer-needed alert directly from the settings menu.
