Salesforce Unveils Koa Reasoning Model and Expands AWS, Google Cloud Agent Integrations
Salesforce unveiled Koa, an Nvidia Nemotron-based reasoning model for CRM tasks, and deepened AWS and Google Cloud integrations at Dreamforce 2026.
Koa is Salesforce’s first reasoning model and is based on Nvidia’s open-weight Nemotron model, according to TechCrunch. Salesforce and Nvidia post-trained it for sales, marketing and customer-support work. In a briefing reported by SiliconANGLE, Salesforce Chief Platform and Engineering Officer Rohan Kumar said Koa was trained without customer data. Instead, Salesforce used synthetic data built from nearly 30 years of internal CRM deployment experience and simulated workflows across 14 industries, including healthcare, finance and manufacturing. The training combined supervised fine-tuning, reinforcement learning and group relative policy optimization to improve multistep tool calls. Salesforce said benchmark tests showed Koa matched or exceeded several leading general-purpose models on CRM tasks with three times fewer errors.
Koa will be offered as an alternative to other models in Agentforce, Salesforce’s platform for building agents that handle tasks such as answering service questions or scheduling appointments. According to TechCrunch, it can be routed through Salesforce’s AI gateway depending on the task, uses fewer tokens for the same work than frontier models, and follows customer data and security requirements. Jayesh Govindarajan, executive vice president of Salesforce AI, told TechCrunch that Salesforce had previously relied on frontier model providers for reasoning and that no suitable American pre-trained base model with clear data provenance was available before Nemotron. Kari Ann Briski, Nvidia’s vice president of generative AI software for enterprise, told TechCrunch that Nemotron’s inference architecture is token-efficient.
Koa is not generally available. SiliconANGLE reported that it is available to select customers through an expanded pilot in Agentforce, with general availability slated for winter. Salesforce also said it will integrate Nvidia’s full Nemotron model suite into Missionforce Operations in October for regulated sectors such as government, allowing use in air-gapped networks and private clouds for back-office workflows such as procurement and supply chain management. Ryan Teeples, chief strategy officer at 1-800Accountant, said in the SiliconANGLE report that Koa gives agents reasoning to work through tax rules, financial data and customer circumstances step by step.
On cloud integrations, Salesforce said its work with AWS will bring business context and actions natively into Amazon Quick through the Model Context Protocol, so Amazon Quick can access live CRM data and perform autonomous work for sales and customer service teams. AWS DevOps Agent is being integrated into Slack, allowing teams to resolve infrastructure problems without leaving the platform, Salesforce said. Agentforce is also gaining access to Amazon Bedrock’s foundation models from Anthropic, OpenAI and Nvidia. Salesforce is extending Data 360 Zero Copy to AWS Glue-managed Apache Iceberg tables and the Amazon Aurora database, and adding Agent2Agent bidirectional audio support with Amazon Connect Customer over Websockets. Rahul Pathak, AWS vice president of data and AI GTM, said the integrations give customers data access without migration, model choice at the right economics, and AI agents where their people already work.
With Google Cloud, Salesforce said it is building a unified AI stack. Hyperforce on Google Cloud is already supporting live customer traffic, and broader customer migrations are expected in the fourth quarter. Salesforce President and Chief Trust and Infrastructure Officer Meir Amiel said the infrastructure underneath customers is changing, not the trust they have built with Salesforce, and that Hyperforce running natively on Google Cloud will extend the same security, compliance and resilience standards. The Google integration will let customers surface CRM data and capabilities directly within Gemini Enterprise without integration work, using Salesforce’s headless architecture and MCP. Gemini will be able to perform sales pipeline health checks, account summaries and case triage across sales, service, finance and advertising workflows. Tableau analytics and visualization are being brought into Gemini, while Gemini is being brought into Agentforce so customers can develop agents powered by Google’s flagship AI model. Salesforce is also integrating Commerce Cloud with the Universal Commerce Protocol, which will let shoppers discover and purchase products within Google Search or Gemini, with payments processed through Salesforce’s infrastructure.
Salesforce is not abandoning Anthropic or OpenAI. According to TechCrunch, it announced a partnership with Anthropic called ClaudeForce that allows companies to use Claude as their AI interface while their data remains in Salesforce’s system of records, secured by its infrastructure.
Editor's Summary
Salesforce used Dreamforce 2026 to introduce Koa, an Nvidia Nemotron-based reasoning model for CRM and Agentforce tasks, while expanding AWS and Google Cloud integrations that place its data and agents inside customers’ existing cloud environments. Koa is in a limited pilot with general availability planned for winter, and Salesforce says it was trained on synthetic data rather than customer records. The announcements show Salesforce positioning itself as a model-neutral agent platform, even as it leans on Nvidia for an open-weight enterprise reasoning option.
