Lee was inaugurated as chairman in 2022, and Tuesday marks the fourth anniversary. His decision to mark the date at a key robotics facility is seen as a signal of the company's commitment to expand into new sectors, the report said.
During the visit, Lee is expected to review preparations for robotics technologies that Samsung plans to unveil at CES 2027, the world's largest consumer electronics and IT trade show, which is to be held in Las Vegas in January, according to Yonhap.
Samsung has previously outlined a strategy to gradually expand its robotics business. The plan calls for starting with industrial robots for manufacturing facilities and later extending into household and service robots, the report said.
