TechRadar Review Calls IDX Complete Cost-Effective but Flags Trial and Data Broker Gaps
TechRadar says IDX Complete bundles identity protection for $33 a month, but lacks a free trial and broad data broker coverage.
IDX Complete costs $33 per month and includes data removal, a password manager, a VPN, dark web monitoring, identity theft insurance and other features, according to the review. Annual payment brings a 10% discount, which TechRadar described as unimpressive because 30% to 50% is the norm for most cybersecurity bundles it has reviewed. A family version costs $65 per month and extends the same features to two adults and five dependents under 18. IDX offers no standard free trial or money-back guarantee; users must choose a plan and enter payment details before gaining access.
The review highlighted IDX's ForgetMe data removal service, which scans more than 100 data broker sites for personal information and sends automated deletion requests when information is found. TechRadar said that coverage is not as extensive as dedicated data removal platforms, many of which cover more than 500 sites, but is sufficient for the most popular data broker sites. The password manager stores passwords, can share them, autofills login details and checks whether passwords were exposed in data breaches, alerting users to change them. The VPN encrypts online traffic through remote servers; TechRadar counted roughly 20 server locations, far fewer than dedicated VPN apps that offer more than 200 locations. The review said VPNs are particularly important on public WiFi networks, which are often insecure.
TechRadar said paying separately for a VPN, password manager and data removal platform could run into $100 a month, making the $33 bundle cheaper for users who need several tools. It listed numerous cybersecurity features, the cost-effective bundle and a user-friendly interface among reasons to buy. It listed no free trial and limited data broker coverage among reasons to avoid. The review also said cyber threats have become more sophisticated as malicious actors deploy AI tools, from AI-generated phishing emails to deepfakes and automated vulnerability scanning, while AI also helps cybersecurity tools counter those methods.
TechRadar's verdict was that IDX Complete is a cost-effective cybersecurity software bundle for individuals and families, but that some improvements are needed.
Editor's Summary
TechRadar’s review presents IDX Complete as a lower-cost all-in-one identity protection bundle at $33 a month, with a $65 family plan for two adults and five dependents under 18. It credits the bundle’s feature set and interface but flags the absence of a free trial and data broker coverage of just over 100 sites as drawbacks.
