Samsung Expands Android 17-Based One UI 9 Rollout to More US Galaxy S25, Fold 7 and Flip 7 Models

Samsung is expanding its stable Android 17-based One UI 9 update to more Galaxy S25, Galaxy Z Fold 7, and Galaxy Z Flip 7 models in the US, with carrier and device availability still varying.

The update is now reaching both carrier-locked and unlocked models, although availability still varies by carrier and exact device variant, according to Android Authority. The initial US rollout appeared on a handful of carrier versions before expanding. The report said owners of some of Samsung’s biggest 2025 flagships outside South Korea had mostly been watching from the sidelines as the stable One UI 9 rollout gathered pace over the past few weeks.

For the Galaxy S25, S25 Plus, and S25 Ultra, the update carries firmware versions ending in DZIF. Android Authority cited Reddit reports indicating that the Galaxy S25 Ultra package is around 3.9GB, while the S25 Plus OTA is about 3.8GB for users upgrading directly from One UI 8.5. The Galaxy Z Fold 7 is receiving firmware F966USQUCCZIH, and the Galaxy Z Flip 7 is receiving F766USQUCCZIH.

Carrier availability remains uneven. Android Authority reported that the Flip 7 rollout has been spotted on AT&T, while the Fold 7 has appeared on T-Mobile and Verizon, among others. Samsung’s own update pages confirm Android 17 builds for both foldables, and the pages are also live for multiple S25 series variants, according to the report.

One UI 9 introduces a more customizable Quick Panel, improved Now nudge suggestions, My FanCam, new privacy and security alerts, Samsung Health upgrades, and DeX improvements, Android Authority reported. Fold 7 users also get additional multitasking controls, while Flip 7 users gain several cover screen improvements. The changes vary by device.

The US expansion signals that Samsung is moving into the wider international phase of its One UI 9 release, Android Authority reported. Other markets should follow as the staged rollout continues.

Users with the affected phones can check whether the update is available by going to Settings, then Software update, then Download and install.
