Samsung Galaxy S27 Ultra Camera Layout Draws Conflicting Leaker Claims

OnLeaks shared the image on X and described it as the most “up to date and accurate” rear camera configuration for the upcoming flagship, the report said. The leak follows a wave of early third-party case leaks from China that had raised questions about Samsung’s next camera setup.

Those initial cases, analyzed by Ice Universe, lacked cutouts for secondary camera elements. That absence led to speculation that Samsung had dropped the Laser AutoFocus sensor from the Galaxy S27 Ultra, Android Authority reported.

OnLeaks’ updated render indicates that the sensors sit inside the secondary module, rather than requiring separate openings in the rear camera area. But Ice Universe reacted to the render by claiming that the camera sits at the bottom of the module, with the flash above it.

The competing accounts leave the final arrangement of the camera island unresolved. According to Android Authority, the disagreement highlights how CAD renders can obscure hardware details when components sit flush with the surrounding surface.

Earlier CAD renders of the Galaxy S27 Ultra had already shown the broad direction of the design, but the finer details inside the camera island remained unclear until now, the report said. The case leaks and the new render have not produced a single, agreed-upon description of the rear camera layout.
