The Z Fold 8 Ultra received several improvements over the previous Z Fold 7, including brighter interior and exterior screens, sharper cameras, and faster charging. The device also features a larger 5,000mAh battery, up from the Z Fold 7's 4,400mAh, which helps it last a full day on a single charge. The improved hinge design is intended to be more durable, although it did not hold up in JerryRigEverything's testing, and its IP48 water and dust resistance is lower than some competitors such as the Pixel 10 Pro Fold.

In a review, The Verge praised the phone's rear triple camera setup, excellent battery life, and slim design, but noted that the usual price held it back from true greatness. The discount helps address that concern.
