Samsung Raises US Prices on Galaxy A57, A37, A27 and A17 5G Phones

Samsung has raised US prices on four Galaxy A-series 5G phones, including a second increase this year for the Galaxy A17 5G, pushing its total gain $70 above launch.

The Galaxy A57 5G now starts at $599.99, up from $549.99. The Galaxy A37 5G starts at $489.99, up from $449.99. The Galaxy A27 5G is now priced at $379.99, up from $349.99, and the Galaxy A17 5G now costs $269.99, up from $249.99.

The Galaxy A17 5G has now been raised twice. It launched at $199.99 but took a $50 increase in August to $249.99, and the latest move brings it to $269.99, or $70 above its original launch price. For the other three models, the increases amount to $30 to $50 over their previous prices.

The new figures are also higher than the prices at which last year's Galaxy A models arrived. The Galaxy A56 5G started at $500, the Galaxy A36 5G at $400, the Galaxy A26 5G at $300 and the Galaxy A16 5G at $200.

The increases follow a year in which numerous smartphones launched at higher prices because of the RAM crisis, including Samsung's own Galaxy A-series devices, according to Android Authority.

Android Authority said buyers may be better served by an older handset or by holding on to their current phone longer. It also recommended the $500 Google Pixel 10a over the Galaxy A37 5G and Galaxy A57 5G in particular, noting that the Galaxy A57 5G now costs $100 more than the Pixel while the Galaxy A37 5G is only $10 cheaper.
