Samsung rolls out One UI 9 Watch beta to Galaxy Watch 6 and Watch 6 Classic in South Korea
Samsung is bringing the One UI 9 Watch beta to Galaxy Watch 6 and Classic users in South Korea, extending Wear OS 7 previews to its 2023 models.
According to Android Authority, the rollout follows Samsung's beta launches for the Galaxy Watch 8 late last month and for the Galaxy Watch 7 and Watch Ultra last week. A screenshot shared by leaker Tarun Vats on X, taken from the Korean Samsung community page, shows the beta sign-up and download page for the two Watch 6 models.
No official changelog has been published for this update. The screenshot only explains how to enroll and download the beta, but a handful of visual changes are expected alongside other Wear OS 7-based elements.
Additional reporting by SamMobile identifies the firmware versions: the Galaxy Watch 6 40mm and 44mm carry R93xXXU2ZZI1 and R94xXXU2ZZI1 respectively, while the 43mm and 47mm Galaxy Watch 6 Classic receive R95xXXU2ZZI1 and R96xXXU2ZZI1.
It remains unclear whether the beta will expand to the United States in the coming days. The One UI 9 Watch beta for the Galaxy Watch 8 has already reached the US, and the Galaxy Watch 7 beta is expected to follow a similar path.
Samsung has moved quickly to bring beta programs to older watches. There is still no word on when a stable version will arrive, though newer watches are likely to get priority, as they did in the beta rollout.
