Samsung Rolls Out September 2026 Security Patch for Galaxy S24 Series, Still No Stable One UI 9

Samsung rolls out September 2026 security patch to Galaxy S24 series and S24 FE, fixing 90 issues but not adding stable One UI 9.

The update arrives just before the end of September. According to Android Authority, it is around 450MB for the Galaxy S24, S24 Plus, and S24 Ultra. Tipster Tarun Vats reported that the international variants of those three models carry firmware version S92xBXXSHDZI1. The Galaxy S24 FE is getting a slightly smaller 438.23MB update with firmware version S721BXXSEDZI1, as spotted by Alfaturk16 on X.

The September security patch addresses dozens of vulnerabilities, so it is still worth installing even though it does not bring the more significant One UI 9 upgrade. Samsung has already started rolling out One UI 9 beta updates to the Galaxy S24 series, but the stable release remains pending. Samsung has not announced when the stable version of One UI 9, based on Android 17, will arrive for the Galaxy S24 series.

Owners of these phones can check for the update by going to Settings, then Software update, then Download and install. Samsung has also started rolling out the October 2026 security patch to some of its phones. The Galaxy S26 series is reportedly among the first to receive it, raising the possibility that Samsung could eventually bundle the newer security patch with the stable One UI 9 update for the Galaxy S24 series. For now, Galaxy S24 owners will have to settle for a security update while they wait for the bigger upgrade.
