Samsung's Clip-Style Earbuds Leak Again as Galaxy Buds On
A new leak says Samsung's clip-style earbuds are now called Galaxy Buds On, with head gestures, volume adaptation and AI controls; launch timing remains unconfirmed.
Earlier in 2026, Samsung's debut clip-style earbuds looked close to launch, and even the Galaxy Wearable app leaked the Galaxy Buds Able name. After several months of silence, the new SammyGuru report says the earbuds are still in development under a different name. The report claims the Buds Manager app contains details about the product and its features.
The launch window remains uncertain. TechRadar said some leaks point to an October release for new Samsung tablets, which could mean the Buds On will arrive at the same time. It is also possible Samsung will wait until 2027, when the company is rumored to release over-ear headphones. TechRadar described the release date as still to be confirmed.
The reported feature list includes tools already seen on other Samsung earbuds. At the start of 2026, Samsung unveiled the Galaxy Buds 4 Pro, and one of its major new features was head-tracking control. That function lets users accept or reject an incoming call by nodding or shaking their head, among other actions, and the leak says the Galaxy Buds On will also offer it. The Buds On are also reported to include Volume Boost, which could help address a common problem with open earbuds: because the drivers sit away from the ear canal, sound quality can suffer. A second feature, Auto Volume, could temporarily raise the volume when the wearer is in a loud place, compensating for the lack of noise cancellation.
AI features are also part of the leak. According to the report, Gemini or Bixby can be activated by saying a key phrase or tapping the earbuds. A potentially more useful function is the ability to record a voice memo instantly with a certain touch gesture, a feature some rival earbuds already offer.
TechRadar's report said the leak reiterates the earbuds' existence and runs through some expected features. It added that open-ear earbuds depend heavily on their design and on how well they overcome the form factor's inherent problems to deliver decent-sounding music. For that reason, TechRadar said, the features are less important than the elements that have not yet been revealed.
