Samsung's Galaxy S26 Ultra, AI refrigerator and Odyssey monitor named in TIME's Best Inventions of 2026

Samsung Electronics said Friday that three products—the Galaxy S26 Ultra smartphone, the Bespoke AI Family Hub refrigerator and the Odyssey G8 G80HS gaming monitor—were named in TIME magazine's Best Inventions of 2026 list.

TIME compiles the annual list based on nominations from its editors and correspondents around the world. The magazine said the Galaxy S26 Ultra became the world's fastest-selling Android smartphone of the year despite carrying a price tag of more than US$1,000. It highlighted the smartphone's new privacy display feature, which limits screen visibility from the sides to help prevent others from viewing the user's screen.

Samsung's latest AI refrigerator lineup features Google's Gemini as a second artificial intelligence assistant, TIME said, enabling the appliance to identify more than 2,000 packaged foods.

The company's 32-inch Odyssey G8 G80HS gaming monitor combines high-resolution visuals with the speed required for competitive gaming. It supports 6K resolution at a 165-hertz refresh rate and allows users to switch to 3K resolution at up to 330Hz with the press of a button, according to the magazine.
