Samsung's new Odyssey monitors include 1,100Hz G6 and 42-inch OLED G7

At Gamescom, Samsung unveiled four Odyssey gaming monitors, headlined by a 27-inch model claimed to be the world's first 1,100Hz display.

The 32-inch Odyssey OLED G8 offers three refresh-rate modes: 4K at 360Hz, 1440p at 520Hz and 1080p at 680Hz. It supports FreeSync Premium Pro and G-Sync, and features Samsung's Glare Free anti-reflection coating. Its price is also unannounced.

For the 49-inch Odyssey OLED G9, Samsung says it is a world-first at that size for a 360Hz DQHD (5,120 x 1,440) display. The QD-OLED Penta Tandem panel has a peak brightness of 1,300 nits. In Dual HD mode at 2,560 x 720, the refresh rate can climb to 720Hz.

The lineup also includes the Odyssey OLED G7, which Samsung describes as the first 42-inch curved OLED monitor with a 16:9 aspect ratio. It has a 165Hz refresh rate, a 1000R curvature and a maximum 4K resolution. No release date or price has been given for this model.
