Samsung Says iPhone Duo Launch Drove 300% Foldable Search Surge
Samsung: foldable searches up 300% in four weeks around Apple's iPhone Duo launch; Galaxy Z Fold 8 demand up 16%.
Samsung UK Corporate Vice President Richard Chang confirmed the figures, saying demand for the Galaxy Z Fold 8 family had risen roughly 16% since launch and active Google search traffic for Samsung's foldable lineup had jumped 300% in the last four weeks alone. Samsung executives told Forbes that customer interest had increased significantly over the past month.
Apple's iPhone Duo launch appears to have generated wide consumer curiosity in foldables, helping push the form factor into the mainstream. Android Authority reported that the iPhone Duo's premium pricing could have persuaded consumers who were undecided to explore Samsung's more mature foldable ecosystem.
Android Authority wrote that Samsung had already seen resilient demand for the Galaxy Z Fold 8 earlier in the cycle. It added that Apple's long-awaited entry into foldable phones might be the best marketing gift Samsung could have asked for, because Apple's arrival is validating the entire product category.
