Scam Detection coming to Galaxy S27 and older Samsung phones, code reveals
A code teardown of One UI 9 Beta 7 suggests Google and Samsung will bring Scam Detection to the Galaxy S27 series and expand it to several older flagship models.
Scam Detection first launched as a Pixel-exclusive feature on the Pixel 9 series. This year, Google expanded it to the Galaxy S26 series, and Samsung's newer Galaxy Z8 foldables also support it through Samsung's own Phone app. The feature has also been spotted in development for vivo phones.
The code further mentions a chipset labeled “s5e9975,” which corresponds to Samsung's Exynos 2700, alongside a Qualcomm chip. This signals that Samsung may retain its dual-chipset strategy for its 2027 flagship devices.
Android Authority's teardown reveals that Google has even more expansion in the works, with clues pointing to Scam Detection reaching additional Samsung flagships, including older foldables. The exact release timeline is not specified in the report.
