Secretlab Atlas office chair gets first price cut to $499

TechRadar's B2B Editor Steve, who owns the Atlas Cookies-and-Cream fabric model, wrote that it is one of the most comfortable office chairs he has used. He described the chair as offering firm support that encourages good posture during an eight-hour workday, with a sleek, home-office-friendly silhouette that does not dominate a room the way some gaming and office chairs do. He recommends the breathable fabric model over leatherette for office work, though the Atlas is available in a range of colors and coverings.

In a four-star review, TechRadar gaming editor Dash called the Secretlab Atlas "a capable Herman Miller competitor," highlighting its style, reasonable price, support, and premium build, according to TechRadar. Steve agreed with that assessment, writing that the build quality is impressive at under $500. The firm backrest is shaped to provide support without needing adjustment, while the chair can tilt, recline, and swivel. He found it effective at relieving back pain and keeping him comfortable at his desk, and noted that the design is understated for a home setting.

The Atlas is best suited for remote workers who want a firm, supportive office chair that can blend into a home, according to TechRadar. Steve wrote that the design is sleek and does not dominate the way some gaming and office chairs do.

TechRadar noted two reasons to skip the Atlas. People over 5 feet 10 inches may find that the chair sits surprisingly low to the ground; Steve, who is 5 feet 9 inches, suggested taller users consider the Large model. The chair is also not for those who prefer a softer, ultra-padded seat.

This is the first discount on the Atlas that TechRadar has seen since release. Secretlab is framing the sale as offering Black Friday prices now, and TechRadar wrote that it does not expect the price to drop lower soon.
