Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 5 Arrives With Bluetooth 6.0 and Head-Tracked Spatial Audio at 2,398 Yuan
Sennheiser's fifth-generation Momentum True Wireless earbuds sell for 2,398 yuan and add Bluetooth 6.0, Auracast, LE Audio and head-tracked Dolby Atmos, alongside adaptive noise cancellation and CD-quality aptX Lossless playback.
The earbuds use a 7mm TrueResponse dynamic driver and support Qualcomm Snapdragon Sound with the aptX Lossless codec, carrying 16-bit/44.1kHz CD-quality audio wirelessly. For phones and desktop computers that do not support aptX Lossless, Sennheiser's BTD 700 adapter can deliver the same transmission specification; the adapter's official price has been lowered to 259 yuan, putting the earbuds and adapter together below 2,700 yuan.
Noise cancellation is adaptive and environment-aware, adjusting strength to the surroundings when paired with a phone. In indoor settings such as offices and cafes, where noise comes mainly from air-conditioning fans, keyboards and faint conversation, the review found the earbuds largely suppressed direct air-conditioner noise while retaining some low-level sound. The reviewer described the overall cancellation as less aggressive than some rivals but comfortable. The system switches automatically to transparency mode outdoors and includes adaptive wind-noise reduction.
Call handling moves from three microphones per side on the previous generation to four, one of which is a bone-conduction sensor, with an upgraded built-in AI noise-reduction algorithm intended to improve accuracy for long calls, meetings, voice input and voice control in noisy environments.
Battery life is rated at six hours with noise cancellation on and 12 hours with it off, extending to a maximum of 40 hours with the charging case. The case supports Qi 2.1 wireless charging and carries its USB-C port on the lower side, with no dedicated physical pairing button. Playback, track skipping, volume, mode switching and pairing are handled through touch controls concentrated on the Sennheiser logo on each earbud.
The fifth generation comes in cream white, graphite black, cold-brew blue, caramel brown and lavender, the color of the review unit. The lavender shell is deep and rose-leaning, the case interior has a metallic finish, and the earbuds themselves are glossy metallic lavender. The top of the case bears a silver Sennheiser logo with a radial texture, and the flat rear surface is intended to sit easily on a wireless charging pad.
The earbuds keep the series' compact, irregular body shape, with the nozzle angled and extended to improve fit and isolation. Because there is no external stabilizing structure, the nozzle and housing are somewhat larger than average, and the review notes that users unaccustomed to deep-insertion earbuds may need time to adjust. Once the correct ear tip is selected, the fit held stable in indoor exercise and daily commuting.
On sound, the review describes an overall neutral tuning with the character of a traditional dynamic driver: a full low end with连贯 decay and elasticity, a sense of weight and texture, and vocals placed slightly behind the instruments. Instruments are rendered clearly enough without being sharp or overly fast, and the presentation is described as full rather than aggressive. Sennheiser positions the model for listeners who prefer a more conventional dynamic-driver sound and a budget under roughly 3,000 yuan while wanting features such as adaptive noise cancellation, head-tracked spatial audio and LE Audio support.
