With 14.5 stops of dynamic range and 8K 60fps recording, the Osmo 360 II can record most scenes accurately, and wireless transfer to a phone plus the DJI Mimo app make editing simple. He said the lens is wear-resistant and interchangeable, and suggested the camera may suit parents or travelers who want to record trips without technical skill. He also argued that distortion is less of a problem with current computational photography and can make ordinary scenes more interesting.

Xige bought the OM System PEN with a 14-42mm III zoom lens kit for 6,999 yuan. He said he sold a Panasonic S9 and lenses and wanted a portable camera after traveling and climbing with a Nikon Z6III. He considered Fujifilm's low-end models uninteresting and Ricoh too expensive, and bought the new OM Pen at launch. The camera has a classic silver-black color scheme, but the body and silver parts are not metal; OM System says it uses lightweight high-strength engineering plastic, and he described it as very light with a slight matte feel. It is smaller than the S9, and he found one-handed grip tight, especially for functions requiring a button plus dial, such as the CP button and shutter dial. He said he may need a grip or leather case to add thickness on the right side. The 14-42mm lens focuses very close for macro, with an official minimum distance of 0.2 meters. He criticized the power switch lever, which switches between off, photo, video and S&Q modes and requires force, making one-handed thumb operation difficult.
