Shokz OpenRun Pro drops to $109.95 on Amazon as TechRadar calls older model better budget buy than OpenRun Pro 2
TechRadar reports Amazon cut Shokz OpenRun Pro to $109.95, a $70 discount, calling it a strong budget buy.
The report says the OpenRun Pro 2 costs $70 more than the discounted OpenRun Pro and offers only limited upgrades. Those improvements are mainly more modern charging options and a slightly improved battery, leaving little reason for many buyers to choose the newer model, TechRadar said.
TechRadar described the standard OpenRun Pro as still well equipped for fitness use. The headphones offer excellent audio quality, battery life of up to 10 hours, and a stable fit that suits running, gym workouts, and general exercise, the report said. It added that they are a good option for people who want to avoid in-ear headphones or stay aware of their surroundings while exercising.
When TechRadar originally reviewed the Shokz OpenRun Pro, it called them "the best bone conduction headphones you can buy." Newer models have been released since then, and a 2024 re-evaluation kept them as a top choice for many users, according to the report. The lower price makes them a better pickup, TechRadar said.
The report noted that newer options have upgraded useful features such as battery life and charging options, but there have not been enough significant developments in the technology to make the older OpenRun Pro dispensable. TechRadar recommended the older model for buyers who do not need the most up-to-date items, citing key features and savings.
TechRadar also pointed readers to its full guide to the best bone conduction headphones for more detail on what to consider before buying. The report said readers who want to confirm the discounted OpenRun Pro are the right choice can consult that guide before buying.
