SkyProduction Launches Short-Drama Quality Inspection, Claims Industry First

The company said the tool checks more than 30 items, and that no mainstream competitor in the AI short-drama tool market has yet turned post-production acceptance into a product, leaving teams to watch episodes one by one.

On subtitles, the system flags audio without subtitles, subtitles without matching audio, dialogue and text that do not line up, typographical errors, formatting faults, split timelines, and cases where the subtitle does not correspond to the plot. Audio and video checks cover black screens, black bars, dropped or skipped frames, jump cuts, inconsistent color tone, erasure traces, AI-generation labels, Demo watermarks and other on-screen text anomalies, as well as mono audio, unstable volume, missing background music and lip movement that does not match the voice. The content red-line check screens for pornography, blood and violence, and child abuse.

Users can select any one of the three categories or run all of them. The company said the system determines the inspection scope after upload rather than requiring item-by-item configuration.

On compliance, SkyProduction said evidence of red-line hits is not spelled out in the standard report. It is viewed instead in a dedicated review panel, so teams can see where a risk sits without sensitive material being circulated further. The company added that quality inspection only flags risk, and that final decisions rest with the platform or the reviewer.

The workflow is built around batch uploads of video files or a ZIP archive. Subtitle files must be uploaded separately and their filenames must match the videos, or the system returns an error and stops the job. Users enter the drama title, optionally add a synopsis, and select the checks to run; the page displays the estimated credit cost before the task starts. Inspection runs asynchronously, with statuses for queued, in progress, failed and completed. Results are packaged as a ZIP file for download and backfill, and a job can be rerun with one click after edits.

Pricing is based on video length and the dimensions selected. Per 100 minutes, subtitle checks alone cost about 2.9 yuan, audio and video alone about 9.47 yuan, red-line checks alone about 6.86 yuan, and all three about 12.41 yuan.

SkyProduction cited a September Xinhua report on National Radio and Television Administration data showing that 430,000 micro-dramas went online in China in the first eight months of 2026, more than 90 percent of them AI-produced. The company argues that while generation has become industrialized, acceptance checks remain manual, and that verifying dialogue, playback faults and volume shifts at the same time is where human attention breaks down.
