SkyProduction Offers Seedance 2.5 720p at RMB 0.27 per Second in Mid-Autumn and National Day Promotion
According to QbitAI, SkyProduction launched a Mid-Autumn and National Day promotion on Sept. 15, offering Seedance 2.5 720p generation from RMB 0.27 per second plus compute credits, DramaWave traffic weighting and production rights for AI short dramas.
According to QbitAI, the RMB 0.27 per second price applies when users buy the Personal Supreme boosted annual membership and generate 720p video in a scene with reference video. The report says this is the lowest price available online. The same annual membership costs RMB 11,999 on SkyProduction, RMB 500 less than a named competitor's RMB 12,499 package, which spreads benefits over 15 months by adding three months, according to the report.
The promotion has three main parts. Seedance 2.5 exclusive credits carry a 70 percent bonus on first purchase. From Sept. 1, every 200,000 credits consumed on the platform can generate one DramaWave 4x traffic distribution weighting redemption code, with 400,000 credits generating two codes, and so on. A single recharge of RMB 500,000 provides one DramaWave AI short drama production right. The company says purchased credits are valid for 365 days, and all recharge tiers share one first-purchase opportunity.
The company also says it has opened AI short drama bases in Beijing Yizhuang and Shanghai Xuhui. Teams can join online without relocating, and the company lists targeted credit bonuses, DramaWave traffic support and production rights for quality projects as available support.
QbitAI reported that demand for microdramas is still rising. In August 2026, overseas microdrama apps generated an estimated USD 289 million in in-app purchase revenue on both app stores, up about 6 percent month on month. The U.S. market led with more than USD 84 million, nearly 29 percent of the total. On the supply side, DataEye vice president Lin Qiwen said AI short drama production costs have fallen about 90 percent, while traffic acquisition costs have risen more than 100 percent year on year, with overall industry revenue shrinking more than 50 percent. Wang Wenbin, product director at Wangsu Technology, said traffic purchases can account for 60 to 80 percent of short drama revenue.
SkyProduction says it can reduce costs at the compute stage. It cites Seedance 2.5's local precise editing and its clip reshooting feature, which allows creators to redo only a problematic segment instead of regenerating an entire video. It also points to a director-level agent that can parse scripts, extract assets, plan storyboards and generate video, with human review at each step. For consistency, the platform manages characters, scenes and props as project assets, allowing one character to carry multiple ages, costumes and states and to generate front, side, back and facial close-up views. The platform says these tools reduce repeated generation and rework. On models, SkyProduction says its image tools include GPT-image-2, Jimeng 5.0 and Wanxiang 2.7 Pro, while its video tools include Seedance, Kling 3.0 and Minimax H3, among more than ten mainstream models. It says it is the first platform to support 10-minute long video generation.
For distribution, QbitAI reported that DramaWave topped the overseas microdrama app download chart in August 2026, with more than 31 million downloads in the month, up about 50 percent month on month. By the end of June, Kunlun Wanwei's AI short drama platform business had monthly revenue of more than USD 65 million, implying annual recurring revenue of about USD 780 million, and its monthly active users ranked first in the overseas short drama market, according to the report. Fang Han, chairman of Kunlun Wanwei, told 36Kr that of more than 200 dramas DramaWave produced monthly in July 2026, more than 90 percent were AI-generated, leaving only about 20 live-action titles. He also said that if the total short drama market is USD 5 billion, AI short dramas could account for 40 to 50 percent, or nearly more than USD 2 billion, while live-action short dramas could stay at 5 to 10 percent in the long term.
The report said the promotion's traffic weighting is meant to address acquisition costs. It cited North American user acquisition costs above USD 5 and top-tier competition above USD 15. DataEye Research estimated the overseas AI drama and anime drama market at USD 650 million in 2026, six times higher year on year. Liang Jian, chief marketing officer of Guangzhou Light Box Power, said outbound AI short dramas are expected to grow about 50 times this year. Li Lingling, an associate professor at Southeast University's School of Humanities, warned that many companies entering the sector are not yet profitable.
Kunlun Wanwei's 2026 half-year report showed AI short drama platform revenue of RMB 1.535 billion, up 163.28 percent year on year, making it an important growth engine. Its DramaWave and FreeReels platforms together have more than 80 million monthly active users and more than USD 65 million in monthly revenue. The report cited hits including The Rise of the Lycan Queen, which exceeded USD 10 million in monthly revenue, Married to the Hidden Dragon King, which passed USD 6 million cumulatively, and The Elf Prince is My Baby Daddy, which passed USD 4 million. QbitAI said these titles were produced with the same production tool.
For different users, the report suggested that individual creators and small teams focus on monthly or annual memberships and the first-purchase credit package, medium teams with distribution needs use the credit-to-traffic exchange alongside the Supreme team annual card, and mature production companies consider the RMB 500,000 recharge threshold for DramaWave production orders.
