Slack Previews Voice-Enabled Slackbot and New Workflow Tools at Dreamforce 2026

Slack previewed Slackbot voice chat, automated actions and Surface interfaces at Dreamforce 2026, all coming soon.

The main upgrade is to Slackbot, which will allow two-way conversations. A user can ask a natural-language question, and Slackbot is expected to answer and trigger real actions, such as updating a record or starting an automation. TechRadar reported an example in which a worker traveling to a meeting could ask Slackbot to move a deal to the next stage and hear confirmation back without typing. A demo at Dreamforce 2026 showed early problems: Slackbot took time to gather the required information and present a solution. The feature remains listed as "coming soon," with no release date.

Slack also introduced Surface, described as a new way to create interfaces for workflows. According to the company, users can tell Slackbot what they need and it will build a Slackforce Surface, which Slack describes as "a live, interactive interface your team can filter, explore, comment on, and act on together."

Slackbot is also gaining video and deck generation, allowing users to create assets for presentations, pitches and other materials without leaving Slack. In addition, users will be able to tag Slackbot into a channel, so everyone in the group can act on the replies. Slack said this should make it quicker and easier for a team to get the solution it needs.

The features cover voice interaction, automation, interface creation and content generation. TechRadar reported that no release date has been given beyond "coming soon." That leaves Slack time to address the demo delays before the capabilities reach users.
