Smart TV Owners Use AI Coding Tools to Strip Ads and Bloatware
Smart TV owners use Claude Code and ChatGPT Codex to remove ads and bloatware, Android Authority reports.
Proficient users have previously relied on specialized debloat tools for Android TV or on free Android TV launchers that hide unwanted interface elements. The newer approach uses AI coding assistants to generate changes to the TV’s software and home screen.
In one example, YouTuber Ansub Khan posted a video showing the process of letting Claude overhaul an Android TV. According to Android Authority’s account, the AI assistant built a new home screen experience from the ground up, giving the user a cleaner interface while removing unwanted ads and bloatware. The TV also ran faster after the changes, the report said.
Other users have used Claude Code or ChatGPT Codex to develop custom home screens or to rescue old hardware that had become slow and resource-heavy, according to the report.
The steps are described as easy, but Android Authority advised caution. Vibe-coded solutions are not always high on security, the report said, and users should be careful when modifying TV software.
