Snapseed beta adds Community Looks for sharing custom presets, plus LUT and blur tools
Snapseed's Android beta now lets testers save custom edits as Looks, share them through a Community Looks feed, apply custom LUTs for color grading, and use Motion Blur and Depth/Portrait Blur.
Developers confirmed on the Snapseed Reddit sub that both LUT support for custom color grading and Motion Blur are reaching beta testers. Android Authority had spotted work on those two features a month earlier, when they were still in development.
The beta goes beyond what was previously observed. Alongside Motion Blur, the app picks up Depth/Portrait Blur. LUT support arrives together with general custom presets, which let users save a configuration as their own Look.
The new Community Looks repository builds on those saved presets by allowing users to share them with each other. The intent, Android Authority reported, is to highlight some of the most useful and impressive settings other Snapseed users have created, and to rotate through the selection regularly so the collection stays fresh.
Android Authority said it is not part of the beta program. After hearing about the features, the outlet opened the standard version of the app and found the framework for the new support already present.
The additions follow a period of renewed activity for the app. Snapseed received its 4.0 update in the spring of 2026 after years of being largely ignored, Android Authority reported, and feature additions have continued since then.
Users who want to try the beta features early do not need to dig into the app themselves. Android Authority said testers can visit the Snapseed Reddit sub and send a direct message to product lead Giles Ochs to request access.
