SongFlip Redirects Shared Music Links to Preferred Streaming Apps

SongFlip, a new Android app, redirects shared music links to a user's preferred streaming service without extra taps.

According to Android Authority, SongFlip: Music Link Redirect works entirely in the background as a zero-click link redirector on the phone. It is built on Android's native App Links architecture, which lets it catch incoming URLs before they open elsewhere. The report said this differs from web aggregator services that require users to click through a landing page.

The app includes zero-click background redirection, with Share Sheet and clipboard fallbacks, and it can intercept Shazam links, the report said. The Android app is free and ad-free. It offers an optional Pro tier for song history. A web tool is also available for outgoing link conversion, and there is an iOS TestFlight beta.

Android Authority described the problem SongFlip aims to solve. Among Spotify, YouTube Music, and Apple Music, most listeners have picked a preferred platform, but friends and family rarely land on the same one. The report's author said he juggles Apple Music and YouTube Music, while most of his social circles share tracks through Spotify or YouTube Music.

Tapping a song link shared in a group chat often ends in annoyance, according to the report. The link can land in the wrong app or open a sluggish web preview, leaving the user to copy and search the title manually. The report added that many people do not bother with the link at all.

SongFlip is intended to remove those extra steps for Android users. According to Android Authority, it automatically intercepts music links and launches them directly in the user's preferred music player, requiring no additional taps. The setup uses Android's App Links system so incoming URLs are caught before they open in another app.
