Sony WH-1000XM5 Headphones Hit Record-Low $198 at Amazon, TechRadar Reports

The WH-1000XM5 combine a stylish and comfortable design with some of the best noise cancellation on the market, making them suitable for everyday use, busy offices, or commuting on public transport. They also sound fantastic, offering rich and detailed audio across all music genres, TechRadar says.

The headphones earned a five-star rating from TechRadar when they were released, and that rating still stands. At the time, the reviewer called them "the best headphones in the world thanks to their class-leading noise-canceling features and well-balanced audio."

Sony's newer WH-1000XM6 model, which supersedes the Mark 5, currently sells for $398 at the same retailer while offering similar performance, according to the report. The XM5 lacks the folding hinges of the older XM4 model, but TechRadar notes there is little else to fault. For shoppers not desperate for the folding mechanism, the XM5 is presented as the smarter buy over the newer, significantly more expensive model.

The deal appears on Amazon as part of the Labor Day sales, with the XM5 priced at $198, a saving of $201 off its list price.
