Sony XM5 Drops to $198, Gemini Notebook Adds Play Books, Foldable Cameras Compared

In a separate move, Google's Gemini Notebook now accepts ebooks purchased from Google Play as sources. According to ZDNet, the integration covers more than 100,000 titles from publishers including Bloomsbury, Macmillan, Penguin Random House and O'Reilly Media, and marks the first step of Google's Expert Intelligence initiative. More than 15 bestselling authors have contributed featured notebooks. If a user shares a notebook containing a paid book, recipients cannot read the book unless they buy their own copy. Google is also offering one free eligible book for a limited time through its Expert Intelligence page.

ZDNet also compared the cameras on Samsung's Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Google's Pixel 11 Pro Fold during a trip to Dusseldorf and Cologne, Germany, for GamesCom. The Pixel produced sharper contrast and better shadows, and its 5x telephoto camera outmatched the Z Fold 8, which lacks a dedicated telephoto lens. Samsung's main camera, with dual 50-megapixel sensors, delivered brighter and more shareable photos but could look washed out. The Pixel 11 Pro Fold has a 48-megapixel main sensor, a 10.8-megapixel telephoto at 5x and a 10.5-megapixel ultrawide sensor. Both phones handled ultrawide shots well, with the Pixel showing a mild fisheye effect.
