Spotify expands Music Quiz to more than 2,000 artists
Spotify is expanding Music Quiz to cover more than 2,000 artists, rolling out the trivia feature to Premium subscribers in 11 countries and letting listeners share results.
The feature was introduced earlier this year with a trivia game about BTS, created as the K-pop group returned to the studio. The expanded Music Quiz now asks questions about “music trivia, album cover art reveals, and audio track previews spanning an artist’s music, career, and defining moments,” Engadget reported.
Listeners can take the quizzes through a Music Quiz card displayed on the Now Playing view for any song by a participating performer. They can then share their results with friends.
The rollout covers Premium subscribers in the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, India, Nigeria, South Africa, and Indonesia. The content will be in English at launch, and Spotify plans to add more languages and artists over time.
Spotify has built a reputation for offering interactive widgets and insights into listening habits, from its year-end Wrapped reports to SongDNA, which presents liner notes-style information, and labels for music that is not generative AI.
